Unicorn Theatre
Michael is an honorary patron of the Unicorn Theatre, one of the leading producers of professional theatre for children in Britain. Now based in its new world-class theatre centre on the south bank of the Thames, this new theatre will enrich the lives of over 100,000 children, their families and teachers every year.
"The Unicorn set out to bring theatre and story to the children of London, to encourage in them a passion for both," Michael (pictured, right, with fellow patron Joanna David) explains. "This, remarkably, amazingly, and several million pounds of fundraising later, they have achieved.
"To have such a centre of excellence is a wonderful boon to the children, who need it most, and a unique contribution to the cultural life of this country. The place simply fizzes with creative energy, with a passionate commitment to bring the best of the story telling arts to children. This unicorn is alive and kicking and wonderful."
